Sculpture, as a field of study in the visual arts, has evolved with the changing times and technologies. Many of our contemporary sculptors has shifted from traditional sculpture materials like wood, metal, stone, terra-cotta, glass, to modern materials like resin, fiberglass, plastics, ready-mades, etc. One of my objectives is to have a foundational knowledge and competence in Philippine Sculpture, to improve and mobilize the present level of production in sculpture making, to develop and promote nationalism in Philippine Sculpture as a heritage having our own cultural identity as a people.
